IMG_6698Up today on Rip + Tan, my recipe for that perfect bowl of guacamole with just the right amount of kick. Pair it with salty tortilla chips and ice-cold Corona, and make it before this hot summer comes to an end…


Serves 2

2 ripe avocados
1-1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons sweet onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
1/2 serrano pepper or jalapeño, deseeded and finely chopped
sea salt

IMG_6687Scoop the flesh of the avocados into a mortar and roughly mash with the pestle. If you don’t have a mortar and pestle, use a bowl and mash the avocado with the back of a fork.

IMG_6684Add the onion, cilantro, 1 tablespoon lime juice, and serrano or jalapeño pepper. Stir to combine with a spoon. Taste and season with salt to taste. Add more lime juice if necessary.
